Wheel Tryout: try the wheel, for free
Ever wondered how it feels to make something on the pottery wheel? On this day you can find out. Thirty-minute sessions where you try to make your own piece, with a teacher explaining the basics. It's not a workshop, it's an experience: what counts is the feeling of clay spinning between your hands.
Only 18 spots. Sessions at 13:00, 15:00 and 17:00.
The vote
At the end of the day we vote on the three best pieces: most creative, most beautiful and best disaster. Nobody makes anything decent on their first try, and that's half the fun. Our visitors vote, and the three winners get a voucher for one of our workshops.
Good to know
- No experience needed. The teacher centres the clay for you, so you start at the fun part.
- Sessions start at 13:00, 15:00 and 17:00. Please arrive five minutes early.
- Wear something you don't mind getting dirty. We have aprons, but clay travels.
- The session itself is free. If you want to keep your piece, we fire it for €5 and you can collect it at the studio about three weeks later. Otherwise the clay goes back in the bin and gets reused.
- The three winning pieces are fired on us.
For everything else, just turn up
The party is free and there's nothing to sign up for. Only the wheel has limited spots. Bring whoever you like, come whenever suits you.
We announce everything on Instagram first, including the last remaining spots and photos of the winning pieces.
