About this workshop

Discover the joy of handbuilding ceramics in this creative workshop. We'll explore fundamental techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab-building. No prior experience is required. Whether you come with a clear idea of what you'd like to create or simply a curiosity to try something new, everyone is welcome.

After shaping your pottery, you'll also have the chance to paint and decorate your piece, adding your own personal touch.

What you'll learn

Pinch

The most direct technique: press and shape a ball of clay with your fingers to create bowls, cups and organic forms.

Pinch technique
Coil

Roll clay into coils and build up walls layer by layer. Ideal for larger pieces and more sculptural forms.

Coil technique
Slab

Roll out flat sheets of clay and fold, cut and join them into shapes. Perfect for plates, tiles and angular forms.

Decoration & painting

Add textures, stamps and painted details to personalise your piece before it goes into the kiln.
